Protocol bridging
Translating between different device protocols so mixed, legacy gear can be monitored together.
Protocol bridging is the act of translating data between the many protocols infrastructure devices speak, so equipment that would otherwise be siloed can be read and managed through one system. A bridge might expose Modbus devices over an IP interface, or normalize SNMP, BACnet and MQTT into a common model.
It is what lets an operator monitor a multi-vendor, multi-generation estate without ripping out and replacing working hardware.
In ProDCIM
ProDCIM bridges open protocols (SNMP, Modbus, BACnet, MQTT) and device classes like Redfish and IPMI into one model, so existing and legacy gear works without rip-and-replace.
